FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG DOES HENNA LAST?
The short answer is one to two weeks.
More specifically, the lifetime of a henna tattoo depends on various different things. The placement on the body, how often the skin is washed, how long the paste is left on the skin. Areas with thicckest skin such as the hands and feet will stain the strongest.
It's important to point out that some types os skin simply stain better than others.
HOW WILL MY TATTOO CHANGE OVER TIME?
When the paste first dries off and the crust is removed, the tattoo will actually be at its lightest! It will appear orange or light-brown. You'll notice that over time, the sweat and heat from your skin will react with the heena and cause your tattoo to darken.
ARE HENNA TATTOOS DANGEROUS?
No, henna is an all-natural dye made from the leaves of a plant. Natural henna is usually orange or bown in colour. You can rest assured we only use the best quality, natural henna. Sometimes essencial oils are added to the paste for texture and perfume.
However, it is possible to purchase black henna paste, which contains additives to darken its colour. "Black henna" has been known to cause allergic reactions in some people.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The dye in the henna paste binds to keratin, a protein on the skin, staining the topmost layer only. The henna tattoo will gradually disappear as you shed this layer.
HOW LONG DO HENNA TATTOOS TAKE TO MAKE?
Depending on the complexity and size of the tattoo it may take anywhere from 5 to15 minutes.
Ideally, I would allow at least 10 minutes for each customer to ensure each gets enough individual attention and sufficient detail.
